CASA Prep
I went offline for Reading Week and came back to over 80 work related emails as well as some 40 personal ones. After wading through the mundane and replying to the cut-and-dried quick responses I got around to the ones I need to read for next weeks CASA Lobby Conference which Shannon and I will be attending in Ottawa. Some of the policies that will be coming up for discussion at our plenary session include a policy for a national teaching award, one concerning international branch campuses, another on a post-secondary student support program, and one about Tri-Agency Student Representation. The final policy to be looked at is something I worked on over the past year which was the development of a roadmap to a Pan-Canadian Accord for higher education.
We will also be discussing the communications strategy which the general assembly instructed home office and our officers to develop at the fall Annual General Meeting, which was hosted at Dalhousie here in Halifax. Also on the agenda are discussions concerning Board Structure Options, Bylaws, and Procedures.
CASA is hosting a reception for MP's, bureaucrats and other policy makers on Tuesday evening called "Homecoming on the Hill" my understanding is we will be greeting them wearing school colours and giving ourselves a more appropriate student flare.
I am very much looking forward to the conference and will post updates throughout the week!
